So I feel I need to clarify the last post. It was titled “Happy 2016 (Do Unto Others Edition).”  In that post I felt that I did a pretty good  job of describing the Happy 2016 part, but failed to fully articulate the “Do Unto Others” part. It’s not really a long thought, but I guess I just don’t want to be obscure.

When I said “Do Unto Others,” I simply meant that I was focusing on publishing the works of other writers, and not looking solely at my own work. The Blackbird Review took up so much of my time that I was nearly completely focused on the running of a student magazine. There’s only so much time in the day, and this activity is pretty time consuming. Over twenty student artists were published in print with the Fall/Winter edition, more on the website. It’s really fulfilling to do this, too. Enjoyable, even.

Which makes me wonder if my true calling isn’t to be the writer but to be the publisher. But that’s another post for another time,

For now, I’m writing my own stuff, too, and it’s a rush.
