Number eight is in the books! My eighth story, “Left Field,” was published on May 3, 2018 in Lit Up magazine. Lit Up (link here) is an online magazine housed at Medium, which in all honesty was new to me until about a month ago. In that time, I have joined the blogging platform, published seven stories (six nonfiction and the above mentioned fiction piece), and earned my first $2.50 as a freelance writer. Pretty snazzy for a month.
The stories I have published are listed and linked below. Two of the four pieces I have reprinted form this blog. It’s an interesting place to publish, a real community of writers and readers, so perfect for vetting your stuff.
- “Writing and Teaching: A Field Guide to Five Potential (and, if we’re being honest, Probable) Pitfalls on a Teacher’s Path to Literary Success” Published on April 24 in The Writing Cooperative.
- “On Structure” Published on my home page on April 16.
- “Schuyler Avenue Storms and the Role of Place in Fiction” Published on my home page on April 11.
- “Scary Stories,” a reprint of an old blog post, found here.
- “Life Amid the Podcasts,” another reprint of an old blog post, found here.
- “Cult of Smiles,” published in Lucid State.
You can find “Left Field” here.
